About the Company

Atelier for Restoration is owned and operated by Marcin Szymczykowski, a dedicated art restoration professional who has been in the field for over 20 years. He graduated from the Wroclaw Academy of Art in 1978 and was selected for a special assignment that sent him along with a small team of expert restorers all across Europe restoring churches and old cultural properties.

When he came to America in 1981, he established The Furniture Doctor Co. where for 16 years he and his staff provided the finest in antique furniture and art restoration and repair. In 2001, he earned a bachelors' degree in Art History at the University of Sommerset, United Kingdom. Later that year, he made the decision to sell his furniture company and dedicated himself to preserving fine works of art for future generations to enjoy. In 2006, Marcin completed work on and received his masters degree in Art History from the University of Sommerset.
